SUMMARY:Visit the Lighthouse during the MOB Holiday Tour of Historic Homes - December 4th
DESCRIPTION:Come see the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse and seven other historic homes for the holidays!  We will be decorating the lighthouse and museum and offering special caravan tours to the lighthouse on three Saturdays in December (12/4\, 12/11\, 12/18)\, as we participate in the annual Museums of Brevard Holiday Tour of Historic Homes.  For one low event price of $60\, you will be able to visit not only the lighthouse but the other seven historic homes in the county.  Tickets go on sale November 1st only through Eventbrite.com.  Only 150 tickets will be sold.  Proceeds benefit the historic preservation efforts of the Lighthouse and the other historic homes. \nPlease note that most historic homes (including the lighthouse) require reservations\, so please call each individually.  Details will be provided at the time you purchase your ticket. \nAccess to the lighthouse is by escorted caravan\, only. The tour runs from 10:00 to 12:00 each Saturday.  You may need to share vehicles\, depending on the number of people in the tour.  The tour may be bumped by a launch\, but none is currently scheduled.  After you purchase your ticket on Eventbrite.com\, be sure to call for reservations to visit the lighthouse at least 7 days before the tour. SUMMARY:Membership and Brick Holder Tour
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for Saturday\, 18 September 2021 to meet at the Space Florida parking lot at 10:15 a.m. where the vehicles will be lined up\, given a “day placard\,”  and be escorted to the lighthouse by 10:30 a.m..  As always\, this is “first reserved\, first served.” There is a limit of 20 vehicles\, but no limit to the number of passengers who can legally fit in the vehicle.  If you want to climb the tower you must have proper footwear (close-toed shoes that have a back or strap\, no heels)\, and be 48″ tall. Masks must be worn when entering all buildings in compliance with CDC and Space Force guidelines. \nTo be part of this convoy be sure to email Chris Ecker at cclf-membership@canaverallight.org no later than Friday\, 10 September 2021 with the following information for all passengers: \n\nNames of all vehicle passengers\nDL #\, and state of issue for everyone 18 yrs & older\nDOB for all passengers\n\nYour reservation will be confirmed by return email. \nAs an extra treat\, Hangar C will be open\, so you will not only be able to enjoy the lighthouse and museum\, but also leisurely tour the hangar and see some of the early launch vehicles; a real treat. \nSince September is still rather warm\, there will be cold water available for you at no charge\, and if you would like to bring snacks\, there are some picnic tables on site where you can relax and enjoy them; food and drinks may only be consumed outdoors. \nWe want this to be an occasion where you not only go to the lighthouse grounds but also have time to visit with other members and just enjoy the experience.  Our lighthouse may not be as easily accessible as other lighthouses in Florida\, but we are pretty fortunate that we can actually sit and “picnic” at the site. \nPlan to return to your vehicle by 12:15 p.m. for the return convoy to the front gate.  That gives everyone 1 1/2 hours to visit the lighthouse and museum\, find your brick\, and tour Hangar C\, at a leisurely pace so no one feels rushed. \nFor questions\, please feel free to call me at the number below\, or by return email. \nRemember:  First Reserved\, First Served.  Reservations must be made NLT 10 September. \n— \nThank you for your help in keeping our light shining. \nChristine Ecker\, Membership Chair \ncclf-membership@canaverallight.org \n321.591.5593
