SUMMARY:Christmas at the Lighthouse Member Tour #1
DESCRIPTION:This is what you have been waiting for:  our “Christmas In July” convoy to the lighthouse! When we had our Christmas In July fundraiser at the Rising Tide Tap & Table\, ½ of the activity was advertised as a trip to the lighthouse over the holidays.  We have a lot of new members from that fundraiser so we decided to pick two dates to ensure all who want to convoy out\, including our established members and brick owners\, will have the opportunity.  Therefore\, you have your option of two dates: you can choose either 21 December or 28 December.   Both will be late afternoon convoys so we can see the lights come on at the top of the tower.  Just let me know which date you prefer when you reserve your space.  It’s always fun to celebrate at the lighthouse!  There may even be some gingerbread cookies to enjoy.     \nThis will be a sunset tour to enjoy seasonal lights at the lighthouse.  We will meet at the Space Florida/Space X/Sands Missile Museum parking lot between 4:15p.m. and 4:30p.m.  Vehicles will be lined up\, given a “day placard” to be placed on the vehicle dashboard\, and escorted through the Space Force gate to the lighthouse NLT 4:30p.m. The Sands Missile Museum will be open from 9:00am until 5:00pm\, so you might like to come early and enjoy that museum\, as long as you make sure you are in your car ready to convoy to the lighthouse NLT 4:30p.m.  We will visit the lighthouse\, our cottage/museum & gift shop\, the Space Force’s Hangar C\, and return to our vehicles at 5:45 to line up and leave the Station by 6:00 p.m.  Please note:  You may take photos at the lighthouse and in Hangar C\, but are not permitted to photograph as we enter the gate or anywhere else we will visit on Space Force property. \nBring bug spray as the mosquitoes can get pretty bad around sunset\, especially if you are a mosquito magnet like some of us! \nWe hope to make this a festive tour with Christmas decorations/lights on/around vehicles (optional)\, Christmas cookies\, etc.  If you want to decorate your car with lights\, you can get reflective Christmas Car Decorations on Amazon.  Plan to see the Christmas lights and wreath on the museum and lighthouse tower\, and to see the light flash in the tower. \nAs always this is on a “First Reserved\, First Served” basis limited to 20 vehicles\, but no limit to the number of passengers who legally fit in the vehicle; no foreign nationals are allowed. \nIt is very important to remember that when we convoy on Station we must stay together\, with badged escorts spaced among the vehicle.  There will be no deviating from the convoy; we start and stop together. \nTo climb the tower up to the 5th level\, proper footwear must be worn (shoes that have a back or back-strap; no heels or flip-flops) and you must be at least 48” tall. \nTo reserve your space on the date you want\, you must register in advance by emailing cclf-membership@canaverallight.org by the following deadlines: \n21 December convoy:  no later than 13 December 2024 \n28 December convoy: no later than 20 December 2024 \n\nThe following information is required to be submitted to Base Security: \n\nDriver’s name\nDriver’s DOB\nDriver’s license number\nDriver’s license state of issue\nPhone #\nInfo on vehicle:\n\no   Year \no   Type \no   Model \no   Color \no   Plate number & state of issue \n\nNames of all passengers\nDL# AND state of issue for everyone 18 years & older\nDOB for all passengers\n\n  \nYour reservation will be confirmed by return email. \nRemember:  First Reserved\, First served.  \nThank you for your help in keeping our light shining. \nChristine Ecker\, Membership Chair \ncclf-membership@canaverallight.org \n321.591.5593

It is very important to remember that when we convoy on Station we must stay together\, with badged escorts.  There will be no deviating from the convoy; we start and stop together. \nTo climb the tower up to the 5th level\, proper footwear must be worn (closed-toed shoes that have a back or strap; no heels or flip-flops) and you must be at least 48” tall.  At times there can be mosquito problems\, so you may want to bring bug spray as well as sun tan lotion. \nTo reserve your space\, you must register by emailing cclf-membership@canaverallight.org no later than 24 SEPTEMBER 2025 with the following information: \n\nDriver’s name\nPhone #\nNames of all passengers\n\nOnce we receive this information\, you will receive your confirmation via email.  Your confirmation will include a link to the secure jotform for you to enter the required data\, which is then sent to Security for your entry onto the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.  All information on the form must be entered\, including your social security number.  For children\, name and DOB are all that is required.  This form is required for everyone in each vehicle. Because I will have the driver’s phone number\, I will keep in touch with the driver if information is not provided completely by everyone in the vehicle\, which is why all names must be provided when reserving. From LC26 we will return to our vehicles to line up and leave the Station by 1:00 p.m. Once off Station\, plan to stay around and visit the Sands Space History Museum which is open from 9:00a.m. until 5:00p.m. \nAs always this is on a “First Reserved\, First Served” basis limited to 20 vehicles\, but no limit to the number of passengers who legally fit in the vehicle. It is very important to remember that when we convoy on Station we must stay together\, with badged escorts leading the convoy\, within the convoy\, and at the end of the convoy. There will be no deviating from the convoy; we start and stop together. \nTo climb the tower up to the 5th level\, proper footwear must be worn (close-toed shoes that have a back or strap; no heels or flip-flops) and you must be at least 48” tall. You may want to bring some insect repellent. \nTo reserve your space\, you must register by emailing cclf-membership@canaverallight.org no later than 11 March 2026 with the following information: \n· Driver’s name \n· Phone # \n· Names of all passengers \nYour reservation will be confirmed by return email. \nRemember: First Reserved\, First served. Reservations must be made NLT 11 March 2026. \nOnce we receive this information\, you will receive your confirmation via email which will include a link to the secure jotform for you and your passengers to enter the required data\, which is then sent to Security for your entry onto the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. All information on the form must be entered\, including your social security number. This information is not saved from one convoy to another so it must be done any time you want to enter the Space Force Station. For children\, name and DOB are all that is required. This form is required for everyone in each vehicle. Because I will have the driver’s phone number\, I will keep in touch with the driver if information is not provided completely by everyone in the vehicle\, which is why all names must be provided when reserving.
